Description
One of the hardest things to find anywhere, in our experience, is a pair of flattering and well-fitting women's jeans with the same quality of construction (and materials) as the men's jeans we've carried for over a decade. Indigofera are one of only a handful of brands working to correct that, and making pants for ladies without skimping on any details — so we are prioritizing their women's line as much as possible to do our part and encourage them to continue this effort.
The Audrey Jean is a variation of Indigofera's Roslyn Jean, a bestseller for us in store and one of the first styles we hand out to any women looking for a new pair of jeans. The fit is excellent, with a fitted high-rise and straight legs that aren't too wide or too narrow, and includes four actually-usable pockets, a detail that so many women's trousers on the market seem to forget about. The biggest difference between the Audrey and the Roslyn is the full double knee construction, which these lean into with custom branded rivet reinforcements.
They're made from a 14oz broken twill denim, woven from 100% cotton yarns, it's a substantial and hard-wearing fabric that will only get better and better with time as it breaks-in and fades. Broken twill differs from traditional (right hand twill or sometimes left hand twill) denims in that the weave alternates directions, creating a unique "zig-zag" texture, and more importantly, resisting the leg twist that eventually happens to most other denim jeans. Though 14oz is definitely substantial, these jeans have been finished with a wash to help soften things up and remove any initial shrinkage.
Beyond that, they've got all the usual construction details we expect from Indigofera: heavy-duty stitchwork, custom metal hardware, a button fly, flat-felled seams, cotton pocket bags, and a stamped leather flasher on the back. The tags, labels, and leather flasher all feature art by friend-of-the-brand Björn Altdax, and are honestly some of the very best in the game right now.
